Review of Stargate (1994) by Brad G — 22 Sep 2009
A decent sci-fi adventure from the man that brought you Universal Soldier, Independence Day, the Godzilla remake, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow, 10,000 B.C. and the upcoming 2012. To say the least, Stargate is Roland Emmerichâ??s best film.
I enjoy both Kurt Russell and James Spader but they donâ??t really play off each other as well as you would like, the chemistry seems lacking. My favorite bits are all the stuff leading up to the actual jump to the other side of the universe.
I love watching science and military puzzle about the crazy alien artifact. But once it becomes Spartacus Iâ??m kinda whateves. Still, I dig the concept and I can see how this spawned the popular tv franchise.
