Review of Stargate (1994) by Charlie G — 24 Jul 2017
When your heroes stumble upon an alien wormhole technology allowing them to travel across the known universe in the blink of an eye, the most spectacular thing is to drop them in a desert and trap them in a massive sandstorm, right? For all its action stupidity and wasted promise, the movie does do an exceptional job demonstrating how the US military arms oppressed and barely literate peoples, providing the groundwork for terrorist cells under the banner of revolution.
