Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by Baurushan J — 05 Jun 2013
The story is about The Klingons who are getting revenge after one of their moons are attacked and Captain Kirk and Leonard "Bones" McCoy are accused of the crime but Mr.Spock and Vulcanian trainee Lt.
Valeris played by Kim Kaltrall locate the real culprits and track them down. While the film dragged a lot at times and I didn't care much for the story, it was definitely the perfect way to end the original Star Trek series on a high note and I am extremely proud.
It was the last film we ever saw from the original ensemble cast of the original Star Trek. It was also the last performances of the late Nichelle Nichols as Uhura and DeForest Kelley as Bones ever put on screen (may they both rest in peace) but yes both William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy have small roles as Kirk and Spock throughout some of the Star Trek films after the end of this franchise.
After this triumphant ending to the series, we got a new TV series called Star Trek: The Next Generation where four films was adapted from that and I have to say, I am not looking forward to those movies at all especially Star Trek: Generations and Star Trek: Insurrections since I have heard a lot of bad stuff about the two movies.
Finally, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country gets a solid 6.5/10.
