Review of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) by Brian C — 06 Aug 2009
There are certain problems with the film that many have considered "unforgivable." The movie starts with another confusing, flimsy plot, the most noticeably crappiest special effects in the series, and bad campy moments (row row row your boat).
But after the first horrendous 1st hour, Final frontier redeems itself and invokes a genuine sense of awe, intrigue, and humanity. McCoy and Spock are given good character development as the film embraces the crew's sense of comradery as the crew ventures into the uncharted beyond.
