Review of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) by Baurushan J — 21 May 2013
William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley return as Captain James T.Kirk, Mr.Spock and Leonard "Bones" McCoy; the story is about the trio who are on vacation Yosemite National Park when Spock's half-brother, a Vulcan named Sybok have seemingly invaded a "planet of peace" known as Earth.
It turns out that Sybok is looking for God and he also has the power to make people face their inner pain but when Sybok arrives at the Great Barrier looking for God, he along with the Enterprise crew discover an alien entity.
William Shatner both directed and wrote this film and while his vision his unique, it doesn't match the clever witty direction and storytelling that his colleague Leonard Nimoy had when he both directed and wrote the previous film.
The creative moments are average and hearing Jerry Goldsmith's score was a delight finally. Star Trek V - The Final Frontier gets a 6.5/10.
