Review of Star Trek: Insurrection (1998) by Andy L — 30 Nov 2009
Star Trek: Insurrection is really just another episode of Star Trek: TNG in that Insurrection could have been summed up in about 30 mins and probably some of the episodes of ST:TNG are probably better than this whole movie.
No real Character development of the villians, which is surprising considering that we already know the crew of the Enterprise pretty well so it allows time for an in-depth look at some villians.
It lacks the humour and care of other Star Trek films, it tries to but just seems to be unable to deliver.
Preformances are about what you would expect from the cast, villians were villians and the main cast were as average as normal which isn't a bad thing or a good thing.
All in all an average film at best. It doesn't really set the ST:TNG movies series on fire.
Directing - 5/20.
Preformances - 10/20.
Visual/Special Effects - 10/20.
Musical Score - 10/20.
Entertainment - 5/20.
40% - Below average for a film and especially for a Star Trek Film. Really needed a stronger storyline.
