Review of Star Trek: Insurrection (1998) by James H — 30 Aug 2008
This movie has its moments, but Riker and Troi are on-screen lovey-dovey about 4-5 scenes too many. It's sufficiently jarring that it unravels the rest of the movie. (Especially when you know Jonathon Frakes is directing, and may not have been the best person to.. er.. judge.) They could have used shots of non-principles for the same effect; instead, you start to feel like a stalker just watching the movie..
Also, the ending seemed a little long, and had at least one in-your-face broken promise.
The rest, though, is pretty decent.
I'm a TNG and DS9 fan. Meh.
