Review of Stand by Me (1986) by Patrick Y — 14 Jul 2012
When I first heard about this film I was skeptical not cause the book was good and that this may not live up to it. Or the way the kids acted in the film I was more worried about the fact the film was directed by Rob Reiner.
I like him as a director and think he's great but like Howard hughes before him I can't look at Reiner's film's with out saying "Meat head from all in the family is directing..." it doesn't turn me off his films by any stretch but.
..it does make me feel..awkward. Having said this stand by me is a great enjoyable adaption of Stephen King's the Body and is easily one of the best out of all of his books.
