Review of Stand and Deliver (1928) by Zach F — 01 Jan 2008
Typical "inspirational" story, but a good one nonetheless. I have a feeling the people in the story, esp. the teacher, were more passionate in real life. The directing of this film was terrible.
I did, however, enjoy Escalante's unyielding expectations of his students. There are definitely too many teachers today who don't challenge their students at all. All students need to be pushed to the absolute limit.
