Review of Stalag 17 (1953) by Lanning : — 27 May 2006
Although Holden won the best actor Oscar for his portrayal of the fast-and-loose Sefton, the weight of this movie, for me, pales in comparison to, say, The Bridges at Toko-Ri. Don't get me wrong, Holden is excellent in this, although if I'd been voting that year, Lancaster would have had mine for his work in From Here to Eternity.
Still, this is definitely worth seeing.
