Review of Stalag 17 (1953) by K D — 05 Jan 2009
Strangely funny and serious all tied into one film, which made this such a fun film to watch. Not many films can really grab you for their full length but this film certainly does. You really can't help but think Bill Holden is the spy and at the same time you are just taring your hair out trying to think of who else it could possibly be.
The ending is perfectly satisfying and the story is amazing in its own right as most of it really occurred throughout WWII. I really enjoyed that moment when Holden's character sees the swinging light in the shadow and suddenly realizes he's begun to crack the case.
Very fine film, great comedy and surprisingly suspenseful.
