Review of Stake Land (2010) by Patric C — 21 Aug 2011

[Spoilers].

Lying somewhere between 'Daybreakers' and 'The Road' in content and atmosphere, Stake Land stands out from other vampire films but certainly could have been better. In particular, the final act was a real let down. The 'super-vamp' concept didn't fit with the rest of the film and even then the confrontation between it and the protagonists was too short. In addition, in the final 5 minutes we are introduced to an important character (that's far too late to be introducing one).
