Review of Stake Land (2010) by Sarfaraz A — 24 Oct 2013
Stake Land vampire film set in zombie-apocalypse, directed by Jim Mickle. Starring Nick Damici (also co-writer), Connor Paolo, and Danielle Harris. A young 16 year old boy (Connor) is taken under protection by Nick (a vampire hunter) after his parents are attacked by a vampire in a garage - they go on rampage through infested town -.
Stake Land covers strong story that does not cheat the audience. Direction is well-balanced and so is the writing - horror is well-kept, the vampires are scarier, their very size almost scares us to hell.
