Review of Stage Fright (1950) by Peter H — 03 Jan 2011
Alfred Hitchcock's STAGE FRIGHT [1950]: one of Hitchcock's first films made in the 1950's has everything a great Hitchcock film is made of. Stage fight has great Cinema Photography, brilliant scripting, brilliant acting and of course flawless direction from the great master which makes it a great piece of entertainment.
The Plot involves drama student Eve Gill who is trying to clear her old friend who is being framed for a murder by famous stage actress Charlotte Inwood. To get to the bottom of the mystery, Eve assumes the identity of Inwood's maid's cousin to figure out who killed Charlotte Inwood's husband. In good fashioned Hitchcock style the unexpected plot twist happen here and there and the audience is left sunned by the truth of Hitchcock's web of deceit.
A great minor Hitchcock Hollywood classic worthy of a rating of 80%.
