Review of St. Elmo's Fire (1985) by Larry D — 10 Dec 2010
A melodramatic who's-who staring the 1980's "Brat Pack". A close group of friends find themselves tangled up in new careers, love triangles and changing lives following graduation. This is one of those snapshot movies more than it is a story with a beginning and an end.
St. Elmos Fire was a fine excuse to showcase the young popular talent of that generation. Add in David Foster's chart-topping soundtrack and you'll have a warm and fuzzy reunion with nostalgia - much like visiting with old friends that you haven't seen in a very long time.
