Coming of age eighties film about a group of friends fresh out of university going on in life. The film is often overtly melodramatic, dull, unmoving and mostly uninteresting. Overall, it can also be seen as a wasted opportunity to see some of the most popular new breed of actors from the eighties get together on screen - the Brat Pack.
Unfortunately, this remains one of the most interesting aspects of St. Elmo's Fire.
