Review of Spotlight (2015) by Yash B — 12 Mar 2016
"Spotlight" is a spellbinding drama that is one of 2015's best movies. It's a movie that is consistently fascinating and very moving. The performances are all very impressive, most notably Mark Ruffalo and Michael Keaton.
Don't get me wrong though, everyone is fantastic in this movie and there isn't a weak link in sight. The dialogue feels natural and realistic and everything feels like a real conversation. You are always on the edge of your seat to see where this investigation is heading and are shocked the whole way through.
It's a movie that displays the power of the news and opens your eyes to something you probably didn't know much about. It's a movie that makes you think, affects you emotionally, and ultimately leaves you speechless.
