Review of Spotlight (2015) by Seth C — 21 May 2016
Spotlight is a fantastic ensemble film that tells the deeply depressing story of the Boston Globe uncovering years of sexual abuse by Catholic priests in Boston and the subsequent cover ups by the church and local community.
It is an important film that shines a light on a topic that is difficult to examine for many reasons. The film's plot moves along at a brisk rate and is equal parts fascinating and depressing. The acting is spot-on with great performances by all involved and the direction is great.
All in all it is a film that is both worthy of the praise and attention it received.
