Review of Splendor in the Grass (1961) by Will M — 07 Jun 2008
"Though nothing can bring back the hour.
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower.
We will grieve not, but rather find.
Strength in what remains behind".
William Wordsworth would be damn proud that his poem inflenced this poignant, exhilharating and tragic tale of first love-or the captivating experience of sexual awakening.
Loved this movie.Nathalie was so lovely and fragile, while Beatty was perfect as her enticing love object. Somewhat steamy for the times, but still quite relevant. The ending bittersweet with a little bit o' karma.
