Review of Spies Like Us (1985) by Jens T — 07 Jul 2012
The eighties spy comedy Spies Like Us tells us about the two clumsy secret agents, Emmett Fitz-Hume (Chevy Chase) and Austin Millbarge (Dan Aykroyd) who is send on a top secret mission to diativate a nuclear missile. But in reality they are just used as scapegoat to draw the attentions from the real agents, and since both have lowest test results they are perfectly made for this mission.
Spies Like Us isn't the greatest comedy there is, but some of the jokes are funny, and both Chase and Aykrodyd make a pretty good team, though most of their comedies are to dumb and childish. But I liked the adventures aspects of this film which makes it a real adventure film, while it satirize american nuclear politics. A marginal thumbs up.
