Review of Spies Like Us (1985) by Robert M — 15 Mar 2016
Decent deep undercover mission comedy. Chase doesn't draw back his classic humor much and Aykroyd playing a military nerd makes a decent appearance as the "common hero" of the film. I couldn't find the film hilarious, but I did laugh out loud pretty well the first half of the film.
This was also epically done well for a comedy featuring someone like Chevy Chase with some visually stunning scenes you would most likely see either in war or space movies. It felt a little slow at times, but this was a pretty decent film overall I'd say.
Even though I lean more on the positive side, I'm not terribly surprised that this film didn't do entirely well either. It was still better than Three Amigos.
