Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Alexa M — 25 Jul 2017
Marvel knows what it's doing most of the time with its superheroes on film. It may only be enjoyable, but it's wonderful when the cards are right. Thankfully, the Spider-Man we saw in Captain America: Civil War brought a film that is definitely the latter.
With a director well-versed in the age of the internet, the movie is grounded in the same way the original comics were. Sure, details are changed here and there and its still has to be like the films in the MCU before it, but the environment and action is there without needing to set up anything else.
It's fun, it's relatable, and thanks to Tom Holland, it's probably the best Spidey film to date.
