Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Zachary P — 14 Dec 2018

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is the best adaptation of the Marvel character to appear on the big screen. Yes, there have been good Spider-Man movies in the past 15 years, but Peter Parker has never been brought to life; at least until now in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING.

Let's be brutally honest, Tobey Maguire, while my hero growing up in the Raimi take on Spider-Man, was wat too old. Then, Andrew Garfield's take was way too cool. Neither were able to capture or convey the true spirit that made the web-slinger such an iconic and relatable character.

Tom Holland makes this movie what it is; he beautifully conveys the energetic, sparky science whiz, coming of age character. Something, directors Sam Raimi and Marc Webb never able to capture. Jon Watts presents a new energy into the film, and its organic.

I absolutely loved this movie, everything about was new and I enjoyed it. It felt real, and relatable, and not rushed. One can clearly see that Watts has create a new story and set-up for the character.

Finally, Homecoming is a fresh take on the classic hero. Welcome home.
