Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Charlie D — 22 Jul 2017
I'm not sure what everybody is seeing in this new Spiderman movie and making it out to be such a great movie, it's not! This Spiderman was not even true to the real Spiderman roots. First you replaced "MJ" with Zendaya that's black.
The real "MJ" Mary Jane is a white girl with red hair and in the original story, and it's Peter Parker that has the crush at first not the other way around. Then you have the Vulture a white guy that has a black daughter and a black wife, that doesn't even validate the color of her being mixed, and I'm a light skin black man, and they are both darker than me (I'm not mixed either).
Continuing watching this overrated hyped movie seemed like they were making this more of a Iron Man movie. Spiderman is not supposed to have all these features in his suit that Iron man has. Let that follow up on a sequel or something.
Aunt May is a attractive much younger version of the original, with no backstory of what happen to Uncle Ben? And where is Harry Osborne? Peter Parkers true real best friend, not some overweight kid that finds out who his idtentity is and helping him out behind the scenes.
This never happen in the real story! Don't get me wrong there were some bright spots, I do feel like Tom Holland fits the Spiderman persona the best out of the other three, even Toby did do a good job in his series but later bummed out in the third installment.
I'm huge Spiderman fan I even have him tattooed on me which was my first, really doesn't matter but to be fan and see the director butcher the original story just does not sit well with me.
