Review of Speed Racer (2008) by Matthew D — 12 Feb 2013

Movie Matt here with Speed Racer, a film based off the popular anime series. Since a lot of parents grew up watching the anime, this film was really more intended for them and it showed. Despite the PG rating, there's some pretty bad language & one "middle finger" gesture given by a little kid no less! The film also had a pretty adult storyline driving the action as well.

There was also a ninja fight scene that was completely cartoony & rather unnecessary in my opinion. Is it bad: Yes and the critics agreed as the film was slammed and crash-and-burned at the box office.

Despite owning the film, I can safely say: Avoid it at all costs because it's not really worth it.
