It was a lot of fun alright !
Yes the CG was bad at times and the comedy came across as cartoony but that was the point ! , it was faithful to the source material and in doing so we had to be a part of Speed's wacky colorful CG world.
It's just me but some of the race sequences are beautiful to watch , clearly the The Wachowskis have a taste for style.
Overall I love it for it's nostalgia and awesome race scenes.
