Review of Spartacus (1960) by Kyo 9 — 16 Sep 2010
A great production, extraordinary sets, costumes and technically a great spectacle and an amazing picture. The acting was very good too. Actually I think it wasn't necessary it to be that long, it would have been told perfectly in 2 hours and 30 minutes, because some dialogue scenes, despite being good, just didn't added too much to the story.
The battle near the end is one of the greatest I've ever seen, epic in every sense. The ending is one of the best I've seen, so perfectly done, acted and edited. Amazing film, a Kubrick film that doesn't seem his, but It doesn't matter, it was a great achievement.
