Review of Spartacus (1960) by Aaron O — 04 Feb 2013
I had to graciously push and shove my way to the end of this movie, constantly saying to myself "yeah but it's Stanley Kubrick. You have to watch it". At the end of the day, this is more of a respect rating than anything.
It didn't give me a feel of how powerful of an uprising Spartacus truly brought to the table in history and the acting (even in the 60s) wasn't impressive to me. It's definitely not Kubricks best work, but still a decent movies for when it came out.
