Great performances from Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, and Carmen Ejogo but Sparkle doesn't really focus on Sparkle herself until the last 30 minutes. Depsite flaws, the movie is still enjoyable but it's not to the level of director Salim Akil's last film, Jumping The Broom.
