Review of Soul (2020) by Nkuk — 26 Dec 2020
Not really a childrens movie, a lot of it will go right over the top of kids heads and they wont fully understand it. It is a more adult surreal version of Inside Out. Some of the animation is beautiful and abstract concepts are lovingly visualised, the whole movie has some excellent artwork.
The Atmos soundtrack is also really well done, especially during the Beyond parts of the film. Overall I enjoyed it but it doesn't hit the heights of some of the other Pixar classics, I would say this is a good but not great film.
At its heart the story has a pretty obvious, predicable and somewhat corny and preachy message.
