Review of Sophie's Choice (1982) by Lynda M — 04 Aug 2008
This movie is all about guilt. You don't know why this movie is called "Sophie's Choice" until the very last moments, and the shock turns your stomach over and over. What I really love about movies like this is what it brings out of the audience.
If you were faced with that choice, what would YOU do and how would it change your life? And in the last moments as we see Sophie finally at peace with her self, we understand her completely. Meryl Streep took on the role perfectly and made Sophie a living, breathing, and deeply hurting person.
