Review of Sophie's Choice (1982) by Kristen H — 10 Dec 2008
I am going to be honest here: I have never been a big fan of Meryl Streep. I have always thought that she was very overrated and I never saw what the big deal was about her. Last night I watched Sophie's Choice, and I can honestly say that I think her performance was one of the greatest that I have ever seen by any actress.
The infamous "choice scene" left me utterly speechless. I could go on and on about how all aspects of this film were great, but Meryl Streep's performance is definitely the most impressive, so I choose to concentrate on that.
