I actually own a copy of this movie.I can remember my parents taking us to the theater to see it before it was locked away. The history of the time is beautiful story within this film. Classic children's stories come to life.
Great songs that you will always remember.The National Film Archive now has the rights to it and hopefully it will be reissued as scheduled later this year. Sadly I am sure it will be "sanitized" Actually this film takes place AFTER the civil war.
Uncle Remus is a sharecropper, an employee..not a slave.
