Review of Son of Frankenstein (1939) by Paul F — 22 Aug 2011
Not really in the same league as the first two installments, Karloff's swan song as the Frankenstein Monster is still full of great moments and touches. Rathbone is surprisingly debonair as the title character, and Lionel Atwill proves to be a great foil for both Karloff and Rathbone.
The true highlight of the movie, though, is Bela Lugosi's iconic work as Ygor, and it remains one of his best roles.
