Review of Son of a Gun (2014) by Az M — 13 Oct 2014
Thanks to a friend? I was lucky enough to see a pre-screening of *Son of a gun* Last night. Some of you already know that I haven't particularly found much appreciation when it comes to Australian films. Son of a gun is one of the few films where I can happily say this is different.
Sun of a gun is a well blended Crime thriller. It's not so heavy on the suspense that you lose appreciation for the film and what's going on right now. It has a moderate amount of plot twists without trying to be too clever. It features wholesome, hopeless love - friendship, honour among thieves with a touch of violence, comedy and happiness for balance.
The acting is believable. The story line is not too audacious. The musical score is unobtrusive, if somewhat forgettable. The cinematography - as one might expect in a movie such as this - does not try to take front of stage. The direction is clean and effective.
7/10.
