Review of Sometimes in April (2005) by Angel L — 29 Jul 2010
Slower paced and more reflective than Hotel Rwanda, and broader and overall better than Shooting Dogs.
If you want to watch a film about the horrors of Rwanda then this is recommended. Plenty is shown of the US/international (non-)response, and it also follows a number of good personal stories within the events at large. It does well at holding up a mirror and allowing the viewer to decide.
At times it's a little disjointed, as though it's been edited a little over-enthusiastically, but it's still a well-crafted film.
