I knocked my review up from a 70 to an 80% percent because although the story, starting from the very beginning, was quite forced and the impetus of the relation between Jeff Daniels and Melanie Griffith was undeveloped, the casting was great and Ray Liotta was excellent.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the movie that turned Scorcese on to Ray Liotta for his role in Goodfellas- his burning blue eyes and menacing energy play beautifully in the movie. The film also had good music and interesting shots.
