Review of Something the Lord Made (2004) by Aaron F — 18 Aug 2009
Great film. Superbly acted. The story explores a lot of themes...friendship, professional relationships, husband/wife relationships, the Depression-era, racism...but it never feels too overcrowded. The plot is, thankfully, hole-less, at least by my count.
Real life is often cliched I suppose, and I guess I can forgive the film for occasionally giving in to convention for the sake of accuracy. Up-lifting and inspirational...the kind of movie everyone could use once in a while.
