Review of Somers Town (2008) by Philip L — 11 Mar 2009

I'm a big fan of Shane's film so was a little underwhelmed by his most recent effort. It's a nice enough film, but it's so low key and unsubstantial that I cannot really rate this any higher than three stars.

It's pleasant enough, very minimalistic and down-to-earth but I would have enjoyed something more frenetic, some more meat on the bones.

There is also a comedy element mainly concerning Tommo's garb , but this wears thin as the film progresses. Nowhere near as compelling as Shane's other efforts. Still worth a watch.
