Review of Somers Town (2008) by Paul W — 18 May 2012
A purposefully small film charting a not particularly eventful few days in the life of a group of characters living on the sidelines of London. It lacks the emotional intensity of a typical Shane Meadows film, but still evokes a melancholy that anyone who has ever been lonely in London will relate to.
Towards the end we seem to be heading for a "Y Tu Mama Tambien" moment, but thank god the wonderful Thomas Turgoose keeps his y-fronts on.
