"Some Kind Of Wonderful" is a classic John Hughes teen flick in which we meet Keith (Eric Stoltz), a high school kid that does not belong to the in crowd in school. His best and only friend is Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson), a tomboyish girl with a love for drumming. Keith find himself smitten by Amanda Jones (Lea Thompson), one of the in crowd girls, but she is not from the rich part of the city. Keith pursue Amanda in a moment, where she is sick and tired of her rich spoiled bratty boyfriend Hardys (Craig Sheffer) constant approaches to other girls. Keith manages to get a date with her, which is not what Amanda Jones really want, but she agrees just to get back at Hardy. This eventually changes Keith, Watts and Amandas lives.

I have not seen "Some Kind Of Wonderful" since I saw it at the movies in 1987, so it was a nostalgic trip back in time. I like "Some Kind Of Wonderful" and its core, but I think the story becomes very floaty in the latter half of the movie. It could have been tighter structured. This is not amongst John Hughes best ones, but it is a nice little high school teen gem that makes me go back in time with a smile.
