Review of Some Kind of Wonderful (1987) by Dr. F P — 07 May 2013

Some Kind of Wonderful is a really great movie of its time and is pretty much a gender reversal of Pretty in Pink only not as good. I liked Keith up until he went on his grand date with Amanda and then something switched and he seemed like a complete asshole, that really let it down - also the end was very out of the blue - everything happened so quickly, it could have been executed much better, it felt very half-assed.

I did love Watts though, she's a girl after my own heart! Perhaps her and Duckie should have had their own spin off movie. Overall I really enjoyed this but the ending lets it down as well as Keith's sudden change of character.

The soundtrack is great and I love anything John Hughes & 1980s nostalgia permeates every scene.
