Its not a masterpiece, but some of the reviews are insanely lowballing it.

Its REALLY fun.

I went in with low expectations as anyone does after hearing a movie is garbage for a week after it releases, IT WAS GOOD.

There are moments where the solo actor captured the essense of the character so well I just accepted it and reflected later, that was just han.

Other times, when or IF anything seemed slightly out of character, its easy to chock it up to the characters youth and naivety. Hes still a kid, hes still learning, the movie is about trust and finding those you can consider your family, something han struggled with throughout the other mainline films. Soall of that rang true.

As for Lando, Donnald glover did a young, full of himself scoundrel playboy better than he should have, there are only a few things in his characterization that should or could be criticized and its just for comedys sake so who cares.... i.

His droid is an SJW bot which is honestly hilarious, its really tongue and cheek. Its not as bad as some people are making it out to be, shes defective, she has the same kind of problems R2D2 had and K2SO had, shes been active too long and started developing a mind of her own, but also kinda broken. lol.

Emelia Clark I honestly did not dislike, her performance was just fine and she serves a purpose. I had really low expectations for her, she killed it for what her role was she did great.

Woody was woody, I loved every minute of him on screen, his character REALLY reflects han, not in the personality sense, but you will see what I mean. He is badass.

The plot is REALLY good, tight, self contained, like a western and a mob movie set in space with a beginning middle and end with a few twists here and there. Not UNPREDICTABLE, but what do you want, its starwars...

And predictable is not BAD as long as its done well.

TLDR this movie does not deserve the hate. Its really quite solid and I hope somehow disney and lucasfilm and all involved feel like it was worthwhile and make more spinoffs.
