Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Michael R — 11 Jun 2018
Once you get over the fact that Alden Ehrenreich is not Harrison Ford, the movie is pretty entertaining. Solo ditched the unnecessary nostalgia and focused on telling a solid story. The ending for the most part was pretty predictable, but I'm excited for what will come next.
The movie even though it had a pretty clear mission, seemed confused. The movie opened trying to separate itself from the other franchisees with a nonconventional opening credit. Several themes throughout Solo were much darker than previous entries, but in the end it still rang true to the Star Wars core.
There was a funny robot, good action, deeper plot lines, and one central mission. Solo may not have been as successful as previous Star War films, but holds it's own as a quality movie.
