First off, Alden Ehrenreich is no Han Solo and his attempt to impersonate him felt forced. The film just felt like the adventures of random space man. Childish Gambino did a decent Lando. Woody is Woody.

Chewpacabra is a mostly a costume, but I enjoyed all his scenes, especially when he's murdering large groups of people. As in Rogue One, this movie had more of that gritty, original trilogy feel, which I liked.

This is primarily a heist movie and a welcome departure from the tired "we gotta blow up the super weapon" story. The main mob boss villain was cool, and I enjoyed all his scenes. Clint Howard makes a cameo, because of course.

Also Warwick Davis! There were some things that were annoying (stupid robot, stupid 16 yr old girl, etc). The villain reveal at the end was dumb (the other three people in the theater could hear me roll my eyes) and blatant pandering.

Also pandering was the reuse of lines from the original trilogy which got a bit obnoxious. There was some political stuff in there, but it wasn't as preachy as The Last Jedi and at times seemed almost parody.

The script was procedural at best. At the end of the day though, it didn't make me angry like TLJ did, and really, as far as I was concerned, that's all it had to do. It was fine. It wasn't upsetting, and it was fine.

Go see an early afternoon matinee or maybe wait for them to shove it onto netflix.
