Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Mwood919 — 24 May 2018
Okay, maybe this one is just for Star Wars fans or something, but I don't really believe that. This was, unexpectedly, one the most fun and exciting action/adventure movies I've seen in a LONG time. I don't know what people are complaining about but this movie had me shoveling the popcorn into my face, feelin' the feels, laughing - but only an APPROPRIATE amount, unlike other recent Star Wars movies that have packed in TOO MANY jokes - and applauding at the end. I'm not a huge fan of Alden Erinreich, but he did a rather good job with these giant shoes he had to fill, and although he's not how I pictured a young Han Solo, he didn't do a bad job at all. The tone felt right, the characters were believable, and the big set-piece/action sequences were perfect - never too long or over-bloated.
If you don't have fun at this movie, I think you probably hate "fun" in general... and I pity you.
