I disliked the Force Awakens, considering it glorified fan fiction albeit with some good humour and the usual amazing Star Wars special effects and action... I thought the Last Jedi was both an absolutely ridiculous and stupid film plot-wise in addition to being an insult to the fans and Star Wars lore generally.
However, this and Rogue One I think are great and form a valid part of the existing universe.
