Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Daniel R — 04 Jun 2018
Well, let's begin by saying that to me, I prefered that movie on Rogue One. Why, would you say? Because the team has characters which were way more interesting to me than in Rogue One. I liked Rogue One.
The ending was genious. But Jessica Jones sadly wasn't too interesting in that movie. And the same thing goes for the Han Soloesque guy accompanying her. The rest of the time just barely have any interaction so.
.. But, Solo brought a team which was in part known to us (not that it means that I need to always have the old same characters... just that they fit well together. Lando was cool, L3 was also. I like Qi'ra's ark in the movie.
And I thought that the new actor did very well in the Solo role. I thought that the first hour was kinda rushed. We hadn't had time to know the characters enough when we got to the first train heist.
But, by the end of the movie, I was invested and I can't wait to see Solo 2 now. Yes, I have a few nitpicks here and there *SPOILERS* (the robot escape seemed to much like the horse like creatures escape in TLJ.
Like if the movie needed a good moral event occuring! Yes, you have the fan service event happening (Solo's name, Han shoots first, etc.) but it was all well done and made us invested in the new Han Solo.
I could go on and on but, let's just say that if they keep things simple and with lots of fun and adventures, I don't see why the Star Wars movies couldn't succeed!
