Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Daniel S — 04 Jun 2018
There are going to be a lot of haters on here because 'Star Wars'. It seems to be the trend to despise any and all Star Wars movies and not take the time to really sit and enjoy the story being told. This film is great! I'll be honest, I was skeptical about Alden Ehrenreich as Han, but that soon changed once the story started to unfold. The dynamic between Han and Chewie are on point and a couple of times Alden's delivery made me forget it wasn't Harrison Ford up there on the screen. There's an amazing twist at the end (no spoilers) that has me excited for a sequel or further spin off in the future. Donalf Glover NAILED Lando as a character, and there are so many little easter eggs in this film to satisfy any hardcore fans (like me).
So, before you dam this movie, ask yourself....what are you expecting in this film?
How Han and Chewie met? Check.
How Han and Lando met? Check.
How Han won the Millennium Falcon? Check.
Why the Millennium Falcon looks different in the trailers? Check.
How Han got his gun? Check.
The Kessel run? Checkity check!
This film is great. So grab your popcorn, sit down and enjoy it for what it is....a great heist movie set in the Star Wars universe filled with nods to the films that came before.
Loved it!
