Review of Snowpiercer (2013) by Gavin P — 10 Jan 2015
A ridiculous concept - a train that perpetually circles the frozen Earth, with all that remains of humanity left on it - with some good moments. Once you move past the improbability of the scenario (is there only ~500 people left? And where does all the meat come from, if there's only ~20 carriages?), it becomes a class uprising and quite violent.
Swinton's too much of a caricature and takes you out of the film & Evans doesn't really have to do much except have a beard & be Captain America, but without a shield. Hurt, Harris & Bell weren't used enough.
The ending is pretty stupid and not too much adds up. Interesting, but not great.
